All Weather, Inc. to Supply Automated Weather Observing System for Iraq Airport Rebuilding

Sacramento, CA (September 14, 2007)All Weather, Inc., a leading manufacturer of weather information systems and meteorological sensors, has been selected as the weather system supplier in the rebuilding of Basra International Airport in Basra, Iraq. The airport is being expanded and updated to accommodate the return of commercial air traffic to southern Iraq.

“We are pleased to have been selected for this important project”, said Bernard Kirby, Vice President of All Weather, Inc. (AWI). “The opening of a new airport at Basra is an important step forward, and the AWI AWOS system will be an integral part of the operational safety of the airport.”

The AWOS (Automated Weather Observing System) developed by AWI is an unmanned system that measures current weather conditions at an airport, including wind speed and direction, temperature, humidity, rainfall, and barometric pressure.

At the Basra airport, a Laser Ceilometer will detect cloud cover, and using sophisticated software algorithms will be able to determine the height and depth of up to four layers of clouds. A series of Dual-Technology Visibility Sensors alongside the runway will provide data for calculating Runway Visual Range (RVR), a highly accurate measure of visibility from a pilot’s perspective.

The data collected by the AWOS will be displayed on high-resolution monitors in the control tower. A summary of current conditions will be broadcast over VHF radio to pilots approaching the airport.

All Weather, Inc.’s AWOS system was chosen by prime contractor Thales Air Traffic Management for its proven record of reliability and accuracy.

The AWI AWOS system is scheduled to be in operation at the Basra airport by October 2007.
