FlexIDS Achieves Initial Operating Capability with the FAA

Nashville, TN (September 16, 2013)
Screen ShotAll Weather, Inc. (AWI) is very pleased to announce that the NAS Information Display System (NIDS) has achieved Initial Operating Capability (IOC) at the Nashville Tower/TRACON facility.  NIDS is the FAA-branded variety of the industry leading FlexIDS Integrated Display System.  The NIDS system installed in Nashville includes seven interfaces to external weather, flight data, and time systems as well as over two dozen visual components with which Air Traffic Control (ATC) displays have been built to suit the unique needs of the facility.

All of the interfaces to NIDS are FAA certified for primary replacement.  This allows removal of expensive legacy displays and controls; eliminating maintenance and lowering training and logistics costs to our customers.  The system, available to ATM and ANSP organizations worldwide as FlexIDS, is particularly well suited to legacy display replacement as it includes the ability to embed display applications anywhere on the screen, rather than relying on individual pop-up programs or multiple non-integrated external applications.

AWI is looking forward to working with the FAA as we continue to deploy these state of the art Integrated Display Systems across the country through 2017.  If you live in the USA, FlexIDS is coming to an airport near you.
