Air Traffic Control Display Systems
AWI provides state-of-the-art, COTS air traffic control display systems to
improve efficiency and safety within the air traffic control environment.
AWI's next-generation systems offer the ideal combination of performance and
value, providing ACE-IDS compatibility at a lower cost-per-workstation.
Designed for air traffic control towers, radar approach control facilities,
automated flight service stations, and airport and military airfields, these
systems meet the demanding performance standards for air traffic control established
by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)
and international agencies.
Proven FAA Track Record
Deployment - AWI's field-hardened capabilities include five years
of deploying over 800 ACE-IDS workstations at 70+ locations on schedule, on
budget, and meeting all specification requirements. AWI has produced and deployed
ACE-IDS throughout the US and Guam, demonstrating the ability and dedication
required to successfully execute government contracts.
Customer Satisfaction - AWI is committed to satisfying its customers
and responding to their needs. This includes:
- Contractor Maintenance - After initial support, maintenance was smoothly transitioned to the FAA technical support group in February 2006.
- Installation - To keep installation activities on track, AWI initiates
bi-weekly conference calls with site representatives and the program office.
These meetings allow all issues (AT, Technical Operations, ANI, AWI and
Program office) to be addressed and actions to be assigned and tracked.
- Site Installation Plans - A CDRL for each site, these plans become the
contract document governing installation activities. To capture new or changing
site requirements, AWI provides additional updates (beyond CDRL requirements),
as needed.
Acquisition Success - The ACE-IDS Program has been an FAA
national acquisition success since its inception in September 1999. Installations include:
- Atlanta TRACON plus 3 towers
- Northern California TRACON plus 22 towers
- Potomac TRACON plus 5 towers
- Honolulu CERAP plus 10 towers
- Dallas-Fort Worth Tower & TRACON plus 2 towers
- Oklahoma City Tower and TRACON plus 3 towers

The AWI team works closely with the ACE-IDS Program Office to ensure success.
In addition to meeting or exceeding all of the contract specification requirements
developed by the tri-agency working group, ACE-IDS is on schedule and on budget
as we near the five-year anniversary of the contract award.
