Net
AWOS Net is a data dissemination and display network that leverages the capability
of the AWI Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS) to broadcast current
weather data to a flexible network of display stations. Using AWOS Net, preprocessed
data from the FAA-certified AWOS is available to computer screens locally
and remotely.
Publish Your AWOS Data on the Internet
AWOS Net supports web access from the server, allowing remote users to view
current data over a standard Internet connection.
Airport Web Pages can be enhanced with a link to AWI AWOS information thus
providing instant access to real-time weather data for faster flight planning.
Non-LAN or Internet based computer systems have access to AWOS Net's weather
data via the dial-up modem capability.
Distribute Your Real-time AWOS Data to Remote Terminals
The AWOS Net remote displays are state-of-the-art touch panel PCs and high-resolution
flat panel LCD displays.
The touch panel PCs take up very little space and can be mounted in standard
hardware racks or airport terminal tower consoles. These displays are 1024x768
color TFT LCDs, with a four-wire resistive touch screen. They are equipped
with a built-in high speed CPU and an Ethernet port that connects to the AWOS
Net LAN.
The larger flat panel LCD displays can be the standard desktop version, or
can be wall mounted for wider area viewing. These displays are attached to
standard remote PCs.
AWOS Data Access
AWOS Net provides an output of the raw AWOS data. The format of this data
can be customized to allow customers to capture data for customized reports
or output data on a continuous time frame to external entities.
 StormFront™ - The Powerful Graphics Display Solution
The software engine that drives AWOS Net is All Weather Incorporated's StormFront.
StormFront is the next generation Universal Display Software (UDS) package.
StormFront provides a versatile and powerful data collection, dissemination,
and viewing interface allowing a wide variety of viewing choices to meet customer
needs.
StormFront is much more than a display system. It provides extensive data
and trend analysis capabilities, making it the best available tool for displaying
and analyzing instantaneous or long-term data.
Additionally, StormFront is a powerful archiving tool, which allows collected
data to be stored for later retrieval (up to a year or more!). StormFront
can access archived data to produce tables and graphs depicting trends and
providing a valuable history of weather behavior.
Each AWOS Net includes a client license for the StormFront software, with
additional licenses available for expanding the network.
 StormFront Display Editor
Typically systems come with a standard display configuration. Should users
prefer a different set of display items, the StormFront display editor is
available as an option that allows users to create custom displays to their
liking.
