Q. Is the All Weather, Inc. AWOS certified by the FAA?
A. Yes, download
the certification letter.
Q. How long does it take to get an FCC approved frequency for VHF
radio transmitters or UHF data link radio?
A. Approximately 6 to 12 months.
Q. What types of connections are allowed between the DCP and CDP?
A. Depending on the distance between the DCP and CDP, the customer
has a choice of RS-232, RS-485, or UHF radio connectivity.
Q. What is the output power rating for AWI's VHF radio transmitter?
A. AWI outputs 5 watts of power out of the VHF radio.
Q. AWOS reports all data missing, what do I do?
A. Reset the PC and the peripheral Interface and see if it comes up.
Make sure the breaker for the DCP is not tripped. The display inside the DCP
should be ON and you should be able to scroll up and down using the keypad.
If the AWOS is using UHF radios for data link, make sure the transmit and
receive lights are flashing. If the AWOS is using landline for its data link,
make sure the voltage is changing every 5 seconds on TB4 -9 & 10.
