FAA Depot & Repair Contracts

Overview

Since 1994, AWI has been supporting the 200+ Federal AWOS systems as a daily logistics and repair facility. With requirements to maintain a secure equipment and spares pool, this effort includes a logistician and up to two repair technicians capable of daily transactions and up to 24 hour turn-around of a critical shortage.

Details & Features

The FAA Depot maintained by AWI is a secured facility which houses spare/replacement parts ready for immediate distribution to FAA sites.  When an error occurs at one of the covered sites, troubleshooting happens immediately and the AWI FAA Depot is alerted to the requirement for new materials.  These parts and sensors are shipped to the AWOS site within one business day.

If the failed equipment can be repaired, it is sent to the FAA Depot Repair Facility (operated by AWI) where qualified technicians repair the item and either return it to service, or hold it at the depot until is it needed again.
