Pyranometer

3016The All Weather, Inc. Model 3016 uses the temperature compensated detector technology.  It is particularly suitable for meteorological networks and the reduced response time of 1.66 seconds (63%) meets the requirements for solar energy applications.

A waterproof socket is fitted for the signature yellow signal cable making the Model 3016 resistant to weather.  The signal cable is available in a range of lengths, pre-wired to the waterproof plug.

The integral bubble level is raised to the top of the housing and can be viewed without removing the redesigned snap-on sun shield, which also covers the connector.  The connector with gold-plated contacts allows for easy exchange and recalibration.  The screw-in drying cartridge is easy to remove and the replacement desiccant is supplied in convenient refill packets.

The Model 3016 Pyranometer does not require any power.  It supplies a low voltage of 0-20 mV in relation to the amount of incoming radiation.  When a higher voltage level or a 4-20 mA signal is required, the AMPBOX is the perfect solution.

Albedometer

Model 3024 Albedometer

The Model 3024 Albedometer is designed for measuring net global radiation (and/or albedo) over many different types of surfaces.  It consists of two matched Model 3022 first class pyranometers mounted on a long rod.  The top sensor faces up and it measures incoming global radiation, while the lower sensor faces down and it measures reflected solar radiation.  If the sensors are connected in anti-series, the net global radiation is measured.  When the outputs are measured separately, the albedo can be calculated by dividing reflected radiation by global radiation.

Heating of each sensor by incoming or reflected solar radiation produces a directly proportional signal in the micro-volt range.  The upper sun shield prevents excessive heating of the pyranometer body by solar radiation, and the lower screen prevents direct illumination of the lower domes by the sun at sunrise and sunset.  A drying cartridge keeps the interior free from humidity.  The Model 3024 is equipped with a spirit level for accurate leveling and the compact construction minimizes the shadow effect.
