All Weather, Inc.’s NADIN over IP Solution Approved by the FAA

Sacramento, CA (November 4, 2010) – All Weather, Inc. (AWI), a leading manufacturer of weather information systems and meteorological sensors, has designed and manufactured a device that gathers and disseminates Meteorological Aviation Reports (METAR’s) to the National Airspace Data Interchange Network (NADIN) using an Internet Protocol (IP). This capability will allow AWI AWOS customers to obtain and publish METAR reports to the NADIN network. Publishing airport METAR’s will allow pilots to retrieve the needed weather information from services such as Direct User Access Terminal System (DUATS) and Aviation Digital Data Service (ADDS) to file flight plans and routes to include local airports. These stop overs will help increase activity at the Fixed Base Operations (FBO) facility, utilizing its various fee based services. AWI’s NADIN solution over IP offers a very inexpensive and low maintenance solution for making airport weather visible to the flying public. Facilities with an AWI AWOS, an Internet connection, and AWI’s NADIN solution will be publishing weather data within hours of installation. With the cost of the first year connection services and maintenance included with the purchase of AWI NADIN hardware, the ownership costs are substantially less than any competing product on the market. “AWI’s AWOS NADIN solution is a giant step forward from the days of satellite based communications and their associated expenses. AWI’s NADIN makes the publication of airport weather data a very low cost and hassle-free experience,” said Barbara Baca, U.S. AWOS Sales Manager for AWI. Included in AWI’s NADIN solution is the ability to publish airport weather to a private or public web page for easy viewing, which is a tremendous informational tool to the communities surrounding the airport. NADIN equipment and services are provided for all AWI AWOS systems with the designation of an AWOS III or above.
